As value investors, we believe that at some point, the stock price will follow the value of the company. Yet, there are those companies where this never seems to happen, that always trade cheaply.
This company is one of those. The sectors in which it operates are not very attractive, cyclical, and just past their peak. The family controls 88% of the company, and yet I consider it an attractive investment. The company trades at half of what I calculate as the fair value, from which we will probably never benefit. However, in the past, the family has already made two attempts to take the company private, and given the current valuation, this seems like another opportune moment for them to try again.
