At this pace, our Doubler Portfolio seems on track to end the year on a positive note. Just nine days ago, I mentioned that we were facing a -4% loss. This has now significantly narrowed to -0.7%. A quick analysis shows that this remaining loss is mainly due to the high transaction costs I apply to this portfolio. The recovery isn’t the result of a few outliers but stems from a broader rise across the portfolio, except Tessenderlo and Nextensa.
Tessenderlo’s weak performance doesn’t surprise me—it’s not a stock investors would like to see in their year-end report. The increases we’re seeing appear to be driven more by a general euphoric sentiment in the U.S., which is spilling over into Europe. However, there was no company-specific news that influenced these price movements.
Service Structure
With a growing number of members, I’d like to take a moment to briefly clarify how our service is structured:
Tuesday Email:
Each week, I share general insights, reflections, and lessons, often focusing on the psychology behind investing and value investing.
Financial Updates:
When there are quarterly results or relevant business developments, you’ll receive a separate email summarizing the figures, evaluating our investment thesis, and outlining any action points.
New Ideas:
My goal is to present a new investment idea every month. This won’t always be possible, and sometimes the best idea will be a company already in our selection.
Thursday Email:
This is the most comprehensive and important update. In addition to a recap of all messages from the past week, this email includes:
Monthly a market update or an overview of the Doublerl Portfolio.
A weekly updated selection list of our stocks, with my current view on each company (hold, buy, or sell).
Any transactions and brief company news.
All key information is bundled or linked to in this email, so you’re always well-informed, even during busy periods like earnings season when you might not have time to read every email.
Understandably for example over the past three months, we sent 47 emails with articles, analyses, and updates—that’s nearly 200 per year.
Using the Website
While the emails keep you fully informed, the website offers additional search functionalities:
Under the “Selection” tab, you’ll find all related posts for each stock in chronological order.
The “Weekly” tab gives you access to all Thursday summaries.
“Company Presentations” contains initial presentations of companies.
All updates on the Doubler Portfolio are neatly bundled under the tab of the same name.
Questions or Comments?
You can always reach me directly at sam@valuingdutchman.com, and I’ll do my best to respond quickly and thoroughly. Questions that might be of interest to other members are sometimes included in the Thursday updates.
Through the chat or comment function, you can also interact with other members or communicate directly with me. I’d love to hear what’s on your mind!
Thank you all once again for your trust and the incredible journey we’re able to share with our investments!

Short News
Of course, there are always updates about our companies: stock purchases, management changes, or major sales. However, I won’t burden you with these unless they have a real impact on the company.
For example, Bonava’s sale of 128 apartments to a major investor is a sign of increasing market activity, but this was already reported and doesn’t need to be repeated.
